Dear Alumnus,

It is with a great pride, pleasure, enthusiasm, and anticipation I am inviting you all to read this issue of IJOHS.

The outcome of any dental research lies in spreading the plethora of its persistent knowledge to the benefits of the mankind. As the way study merits and publication metrics is carrying over the researchers towards the quantitative prospective, I would like to quote "Publication of many low-quality articles is worse than production of none." A scientific journal publications should convey the message as strong as enamel, as sensible as dentin, as viable and reliable as pulpal response and should be as amenable to current trends as the periodontium. Such publications would create an ideal environment for encouraging and igniting the young minds towards research with the healthy competitive approach. This results in enhanced professionalism, empowering skills and exploring the unbound intelligence for a better tomorrow that is enhanced scientifically and technologically.

One such effort is our current IJOHS issue, which aims at amalgamating the plethora of knowledge available in dental specialities. In this issue, light is thrown on systematic review, diagnosis and management of challenging cases along with a special emphasis upon interdisciplinary approach with medical professionals. I hope this effort will provoke the innovative incentives in upcoming future.
